INUVIK, NWT – Local residents and businesses can now surf the web for less as Northwestel has announced lower prices on Internet packages for customers in Inuvik. As part of recently connecting the Northern community to the Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link (MVFL), customers will see an average monthly saving of $7 on their Northwestel Internet service.
For existing Internet customers, the rate adjustment is simple and no one is required to call in – the changes will be automatically applied to their monthly bill.
Northwestel CEO Paul Flaherty made the official announcement about lowering Internet prices for local customers during a special MVFL launch event in Inuvik earlier this month.
“I am pleased to announce that, in keeping with our practice for customers along the Mackenzie River – Fort Good Hope, Norman Wells, Tulita, Wrigley, and Fort Simpson – Inuvik residents and businesses will also see lower prices on their Northwestel internet bill. This is part of Northwestel’s commitment to delivering the most innovative communication solutions in the North and thanks to our partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories and Ledcor on the MVFL, we can now offer reduced Internet rates to our customers in Inuvik.”
Customers can expect to receive a notification letter explaining the changes and how the new rates will be reflected in their monthly statement.
