Private Line

When you can't take chances, a private line between offices in distant locations, from Tuktoyaktuk to Toronto, guarantees that your communications are fast, reliable and secure. There's no better way to transfer large files from one office to another, manage a PBX network, or create a WAN.

Northwestel offers three options that can connect almost any community or remote location in the North to the outside world:

Digital Private Line

Digital Private Line Service is Northwestel's premier dedicated network solution when you have mission critical applications. It provides a dedicated, integrated point-to-point network with bandwidth at DS-O and DS-1 levels. Dedicated bandwidth means that your own network is always available to securely send and receive information at speeds that a shared network could never match. Integration minimizes your bandwidth costs by combining your voice, data, graphics and video applications onto a single network.

Analog Private Line

Northwestel's Analog Private Line Service is the next best thing to digital. In areas not covered by our digital network, it offers the most reliable and dedicated network connectivity for voice communications. Depending on modems and the quality of specific lines, Analog Private Line can also be suitable for slow speed data transmissions.

Digital Direct Community Satellite

Northwestel's Digital Direct Community Satellite Service provides network connectivity in the most remote northern communities and locations. In places where neither digital nor analog land lines can connect you directly to the outside world, digital satellite can provide a dedicated, point-to-point link to our Digital Private Line Service. From there, your dedicated network connection can extend seamlessly to cities across Canada. Digital Direct Community Satellite Service is available at guaranteed speeds of 9.6 Kbps up to 384 Kbps.
