Email Configuration
Northwestel has recently transferred @klondiker.com email clients to a new and improved server! This change will require you to update your email settings on your computer. Find the email client you use from the list below and follow the steps to update your account settings. If you do not see the email client you are using please email customer service or call 1-888-423-2333.
Mac OSX Mail
- Open the Mac OS-X desktop
- After clicking on the Mail icon
- Click on the menu marked Mail
- Go to Preferences
- Go to Accounts
- In Accounts Information you can adjust mail settings.
- Incoming mail server – pop3.klondiker.com
- To adjust Outgoing mail servers click on the Server Settings button under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP).
- These are the Outgoing Mail Server settings.
- Outgoing Mail Server – smtp.klondiker.com
- Saving changes: Click Okay in the Outgoing Mail Server window
- Then close the window by clicking on the red close button
- You should be returned to the normal mail window
- All your changes should be saved.
Outlook Express
- Open Outlook Express
- Click on Tools
- Click on Accounts
- Click on the Mail tab
- Ensure your Klondiker mail account is highlighted and click on Properties
- Click on Servers tab
- Incoming mail (POP3) – pop3.klondiker.com
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) – smtp.klondiker.com
- Click OK
- Click Close
- Close and restart your Outlook Express Program
Outlook 2000
- Open Outlook 2000
- Click on Tools
- Click on Accounts
- If needed, click on the Mail tab
- Highlight the email address and click on the Properties button
- Click on the servers tab
- Incoming mail (POP3) – pop3.klondiker.com
- Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) – smtp.klondiker.com
- Click OK
Outlook 2002/2003
- Open Outlook 2002/ 2003
- Click on Tools
- Click on Email Accounts
- Ensure View or change existing email accounts is checked
- Click Next
- Highlight your klondiker email account, in this example, it is klondiker.com
- Click Change
- Under Server Information
- Incoming mail server (POP3) – pop3.klondiker.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – smtp.klondiker.com
- Click Next
- Repeat the above steps if you have more than one email account, or
- Click Finish
Windows Vista Email - Version 6
- Open Windows Mail
- Click on Start button
- Click on Windows Mail
- Click on Tools
- Click on Accounts
- Highlight the klondiker email account, it may be the default, or klondiker.com
- Click on Properties
- Click on Servers tab
- Incoming mail server (POP3) – pop3.klondiker.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – smtp.klondiker.com
- Click OK
- Click Close
Retrieving old Klondiker email
- Log into https://webmail.northwestel.net/
- Username: Login with your klondiker email address ie: test3@klondiker.com
- Password: Use your klondiker password
- Click Log In

- Click on External Mail

- Fill in Collect External Mail details
- POP server: Enter mail.whtvhost.com (This is the setting to use to get your old email)
- POP user ID: Use your klondiker email address
- Password: Enter your klondiker account password
- Leave “Delete messages from server” selected
- Leave “Save to Folder” to Inbox

- Click Collect
You should now see your old klondiker email messages in your inbox.
