Northwestel Enhances Services to High Level Customers
Northwestel is making improvements to its Internet, cable and phone service offerings in High Level, Alberta. The changes include the introduction of the fastest Internet service ever offered in the community and a new more cost-effective way to obtain home phone service.
“Our customers right across the North are asking for better value,” said Curtis Shaw, Northwestel Vice President Consumer and Small Business Markets. “Our High Level customers are no different. To meet this demand, we have made significant investments to upgrade the cable network in High Level to provide customers with higher quality and faster Internet speeds.”
The new suite of High Speed Internet services offers download speeds of up to 12 Mbps, twice as fast as high speed ADSL service and up to seven times faster than wireless Internet.
Northwestel has also enhanced its residential home phone service. This service is offered over the company’s high quality cable network, which also delivers High Speed Internet, Digital TV and High Definition TV. Last year, the company began offering home phone service over its cable network to its Internet customers. Now, Northwestel is introducing its home phone service as a stand-alone offering to any High Level customer.
“This is an exciting development for our High Level customers,” said Shaw. “They now have a competitive choice for reliable home phone service. This service provides the same functions as traditional landline telephone service but also offers premium voice quality and a number of cost savings.”
The monthly fee for home phone service is $49.95 per month and includes free access to 911 and operator services, unlimited local and long distance calling, and a number of calling features such as Voice Mail, Call Display, Call Waiting, Call Forward, Call Blocking and Conference Calling.
Although Internet speeds have now been improved, the prices for Internet packages, which start at $29.95 per month, are not increasing.
Customers may also receive additional cost savings by subscribing to more than one of the three product lines (home phone service, Internet and Digital TV).
To celebrate the improvements to Northwestel service, the company is sponsoring a number of upcoming community events in High Level. These include free swim days at the R.E. Walter Memorial Aquatic Centre on the afternoons of January 28th, February 11th, March 20th and May 15th. Northwestel is also a sponsor of the President’s Ball and Annual Community Awards Gala on February 14th.
