Latitude Wireless is a partnership between Northwestel and the Dakwakada Development Corporation. Launched in 2006, this successful joint venture provides digital cellular service across Yukon. Latitude Wireless recently added two additional cellular sites, one at Lake Laberge and the second at Carmacks Airport. Three new sites are also in development, with service coverage areas to be expanded in Watson Lake, Dawson City and Ibex Valley. Upon completion of these remaining sites, the Latitude Wireless network will include twenty-two cellular sites across the Yukon Territory.
Demand for cellular service in the Yukon remains very high, with significant numbers of customers joining the Latitude Wireless network.
