Northwestel Launches Cellular Service in Kugluktuk
Another Nunavut community now has access to Northwestel's Latitude Wireless cellular service. Kugluktuk is now the fifth community in the territory to receive the service, after Arviat, Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay and Rankin Inlet.

Northern Stores will serve as Northwestel’s cellular dealer in Kugluktuk.
Demand for cellular service in Nunavut remains very high, with significant numbers of customers signing up in the five Nunavut communities where Latitude Wireless is currently available.
Northwestel's Latitude Wireless service offers a wide range of features, including text-messaging, email, picture and video messaging, and a mobile Internet browser service that provides access to multiple applications such as music downloads, screensavers, games and ring-tones. The service also offers remote web and email access for a wide range of handsets, including the popular Blackberry devices. Latitude service is offered on the CDMA platform, which is compatible with Bell, Telus, Aliant, SaskTel and MTS service in Canada. Users are able to roam seamlessly on all other Canadian CDMA networks.
