Northwestel digital television customers in Fort Nelson can now enjoy access to even more High Definition (HD) TV channels.

Northwestel’s sports line-up has been improved with the introduction of three new sports channels, two of which are being delivered in High Definition (HD): The Golf Channel HD, Big Ten Networks HD and Big Ten Networks in Standard Definition.

As well, TSN, TSN HD, TSN 2 and TSN 2 HD have been moved from the Sports package into Digital Essentials, making them available to all Northwestel’s digital TV subscribers.

Fort Nelson customers are able to enjoy all these improvements at no additional cost.

“Customers who have tried our High Definition television service are very pleased with the excellent picture clarity and cinematic surround-sound experience,” said Curtis Shaw, Northwestel Vice President, Consumer and Small Business. “We know that customers are enjoying the sharper images and vibrant colours of HD television. Because of this, we have been working hard to expand our HD channel selection. We are very happy to bring these new options to our digital TV customers and provide them with greater value and choice.”

These changes are all in addition to improvements that were made last summer, which included the introduction of TSN 2, TSN 2 HD, six Super Channel channels (2 HD and 4 Standard Definition), Setanta Sports and Encore Avenue HD.

Northwestel’s digital TV service provides all customers with an interactive TV guide with advanced search options, detailed scheduling and menus, and parental control menus.
