Northwestel Upgrades High Speed Internet in Iqaluit

Northwestel high speed Internet customers in Iqaluit are now benefiting from an upgrade to local Internet infrastructure. 

 

An upgrade to satellite hardware was completed on Tuesday, December 9, improving overall network reliability.  On Friday, December 11, Northwestel added 25 per cent more satellite capacity to the network, improving customer download speeds.

 

“We have seen significant customer demand for our service in Iqaluit,” commented Curtis Shaw, VP of Consumer and Small Business for Northwestel.  “I’m very pleased that we were able to complete these upgrades prior to the holiday season, to continue improving service to our customers.  We are committed to ongoing investment in the network and to creating innovative ways to optimize our satellite service in Nunavut.”
