Northwestel Launches Mobility Service in Pond Inlet

Another Nunavut community now has access to Northwestel's mobility services. Pond Inlet is now the 6th community in the territory to receive the service, after Arviat, Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay and Rankin Inlet, and Kugluktuk.
"Introducing mobility service in Pond Inlet is very exciting," said Curtis Shaw, Northwestel Vice President, Consumer and Small Business Markets. "We will offer a large variety of cellular packages to meet a variety of needs and budgets. Mobile service is a great way to stay connected and communicate with your friends and family, or your customers and clients.”
Anyone interested in learning more about the products and services now available in Pond Inlet are invited to meet Northwestel representatives at the Northern Store which will serve as Northwestel’s cellular dealer in Pond Inlet. Representatives will be their during store hours on Tuesday, September 21st.
Northwestel's mobility services offer a wide range of features, including text-messaging, email, picture and video messaging, and a mobile Internet browser service that provides access to multiple applications such as music downloads, screensavers, games and ring-tones. The service also offers remote web and email access for a wide range of handsets, including the popular Blackberry devices. Northwestel’s service is offered on the CDMA platform, which is compatible with Bell, Telus, Aliant, SaskTel and MTS service in Canada. Users are able to roam seamlessly on all other Canadian CDMA networks.
