Northwestel is upgrading the cable infrastructure in Fort Smith to allow for the high speed Internet and digital cable television.

 

“Since we purchased Fort Smith Cable in September we have been planning improvements for the community,” said Curtis Shaw, Vice President of Consumer Markets, Northwestel. “We are investing $1.5 million to upgrade infrastructure in the community. Once these upgrades are complete we will be able to offer new services never before available in Fort Smith.”

 

Upgrading the Cable network will make it possible for Northwestel to offer customers a variety of enhanced services including:

 

The initial infrastructure upgrades will involve installing new cabling throughout Fort Smith. Technicians will be seen working in the community. Work should not result in outages for customers.
