Usage Notification Service Now Available Through Northwestel

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Northwestel has launched a service to help customers stay on top of their Internet usage. Customers can register for this free service and the new Usage Notification Service will send an email notice when their account is reaching its monthly limit.

“Our customers have asked us to send a notification when they are approaching their limit,” said Curtis Shaw, Northwestel Vice President of Consumer Markets. “We responded by creating this Usage Notification Service which I believe will help customers track their monthly usage allowance.”

The Usage Notification Service monitors usage on an account and notifies the user, by email, when they have reached 80% of their monthly usage allowance. It will send a second email notification when the user has reached 100% of the monthly usage allowance.

“This service enhances our existing online usage tracking tools which we have made available to help customers manage their Northwestel accounts,” said Shaw. “It gives our customers an easy way to know if they are nearing their monthly usage allowance and avoids accidental over usage.”

Interested customers can register by visiting www.nwtel.ca/internetusage. Click on the Usage Notification Service link and the site will prompt you to register for this service.

Northwestel provides complete telecommunications solutions and entertainment services in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon, northern British Columbia and High Level, Alberta. The company’s operations span nearly 4 million square kilometres of the most remote and rugged areas of Canada.
