Friday, October 14, 2011

Dettah is the most recent community to enjoy Northwestel broadband Internet access.

“We are very pleased to offer our High Speed Internet service to so many areas,” said Curtis Shaw, Northwestel Vice President, Consumer and Small Business. “The Internet is becoming more important in the lives of northerners and it is our goal to provide the best possible service throughout our operating area.”

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Northwestel is hosting a bannock and moose stew community dinner on Wednesday October 19th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Chief Drygeese Centre, the Government building and conference centre.

Customers wishing to subscribe to the new service, or with inquiries about service availability in their community, are also invited to contact Northwestel at 1-888-423-2333, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. MT for residential customers, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. MT for business customers. Or check Northwestel’s web site for more information at: http://www.nwtel.ca/personal/internet/dsl/

Dettah joins a growing list of connected NWT communities. Tulita, Tsiigehtchic and Whati are among the most recent NWT communities to enjoy broadband Internet access. Northwestel offers broadband Internet in 18 NWT communities and over 60 communities across the company’s operating area.
