Whitehorse, November 29, 2012 – Northwestel introduced an innovative, technical support service today as part of its ongoing initiative to enhance the customers’ online experience. “Live PC Expert” provides access to additional technical expertise for all types of desktop computers, laptops and connected electronic devices 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the comfort of one’s home or office. The round the clock assistance is available to residential and business cable Internet subscribers.

“Sometimes our customers encounter technical issues with their software applications while online,” said Curtis Shaw, Vice President of Marketing at Northwestel. “They want technical assistance right away. The Live PC Expert service offers the expertise customers need to resolve those issues, whenever they happen. Northwestel is pleased to add this type of support service to our product line, especially since convenient access to computer support is not as readily available in the North.”

Live PC Expert provides a live, certified technician who can trouble shoot customers’ problems immediately  no matter the time of day or the connected device, through online live chat. Key features of the service include:

  • Support of PC and MAC hardware, attached devices and operating systems
  • Support and “how-to “training of all computer applications
  • Year round 24/7 online chat support with availability of direct phone support
  • Live, real-time screen sharing which delivers faster resolution of desktop related issues and highest quality experience for customers of all technical knowledge levels 
  • Assistance in setting up and managing home network in a totally secure customer support environment
  • Monthly preventative maintenance with Report Card
  • The latest programs and software as they become available (e.g. Facebook and Twitter)

Live PC Expert service is available in three packages:

Basic Support - $9.95 per month per computer
Preferred Support - $14.95 per month per computer
Ultimate Support - $19.95 per month per computer
