Freedom After Hours FAQ

Why do I have to sign up for the plan?

Freedom After Hours is a competitively priced long distance plan that we expect customers will choose over any other plans that may be offered to them. If the plan is provided automatically to all customers, the customer has not made the choice and may even be unaware of the benefits of the plan. Signing up is as simple as clicking your mouse or calling 1-888-423-2333.

Will I pay a service charge or one-time fee for this plan?

No. There are no fees of any kind for signing up for the Freedom After Hours plan.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee for this plan?

No. There are no monthly recurring fees for this plan. You only pay for the minutes you use.

Can I switch to a competitor's plan if I am on this plan?

Yes. Customers are free to switch to a competitor's plan at any time.

I already have Teleplus. Should I switch to Freedom After Hours?

Yes. Freedom After Hours provides significantly better rates than Teleplus for direct-dialed calls to Canada in the evenings and on weekends-and you get the same discount rate as Teleplus on other direct-dialed and calling card calls.

Can I subscribe to more than one Northwestel long distance calling plan at a time?

No. Customers can only subscribe to one plan at a time on any given account.

Why isn't Freedom After Hours in effect 24 hours a day?

Freedom After Hours is a plan for residential customers who place most of their personal calls in the evening and on weekends. Customers who wish to have the benefit of low rates anytime of day should consider subscribing to Freedom World.

Do the Freedom After Hours plan rates (10¢ a minute) apply on Statutory Holidays?

Freedom After Hours & Freedom World 10 cent per minute rates apply all day on Christmas Day and New Year's Day only. For all remaining Statutory Holidays the Freedom After Hours or Freedom World rates apply as they would normally.

What happens to customers who do not sign up for Freedom After Hours?

They will continue to be charged at the rates under their current long distance calling plan. Customers who are not on another long distance calling plan will continue to be charged at regular rates.

Is this plan available to residential fixed station manual mobile customers?

The plan is available to any customer, however, residential fixed station manual mobile customers are unable to place direct dialed calls so therefore will not benefit from the low per minute rate. However, they would still benefit from a 15% discount on any calling card calls.
