Northern Futures Scholarship Program
imagine - a future you can reach...
All northern graduates should have the opportunity to make their dreams come alive. Northwestel's Northern Futures Scholarship Program can help make those dreams a reality.
Every year, Northwestel awards ten scholarships worth $2,500 each, to select post-secondary, full-time students enrolled in the following programs:
- Telecommunications
- Computer Science
- Electrical Engineering
- Business/Commerce
Five scholarships will be available exclusively to aboriginal students - one each in Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Yukon and northern British Columbia.
Five scholarships will be awarded based on field of study, as mentioned above. Scholarships are open to students residing in Northwestel's operating area who:
- Are attending or will be attending post-secondary education on a full-time basis for the entire academic year
- Have participated in extracurricular and community organizations, clubs or charities

Each application will be reviewed and finalists chosen based on academic achievement, extracurricular and community participation and leadership activities. Finalists will be interviewed by a panel comprised of Northwestel leaders and community members.
