Installation fees for new customers
Technician installation: $186.89
A technician will come to your home to set up your Internet. The installation fee includes the cost for order processing, the site visit, line connection and site work.
Self-installation: $86.61 [Whitehorse and Yellowknife only]
If your home has been connected to services in the last 2 years and is within an area that offers cable Internet, you can set up your Internet connection yourself. The installation fee includes the cost for line connection and order processing.
- Maximum speeds can only be obtained on a wired connection. Access speeds may vary depending on the distance between the customer’s modem and switching equipment from Northwestel: Download access speed: min. 35 Mbps and max. 50 Mbps. Speeds experienced on the Internet may vary with customer's configuration, Internet traffic, server, environmental conditions, traffic management practices or other factors. - Any portion of the Northwestel Better Bundle Program may be modified, discontinued or terminated at any time. Includes five email accounts with Webmail access and help desk support. As part of your monthly subscription to Internet services, Northwestel will provide a wired modem. An additional subscription, at the rate of $4.95 per month will apply for any customer who wishes to have a modem with wireless (Wi-Fi) capabilities.
- Northwestel may manage network resources using filtering for spam and malicious illicit content, anti-virus mechanisms or other measures to protect the integrity of the network (such as the blocking of customer traffic or other traffic in the event of denial-of-service attacks) or Internet traffic management practices consistent with the Commission’s determinations in Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2009-657 and subsequent determinations.
