Every community matters
Northwestel’s Every Community Project has transformed connectivity across the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and beyond, bringing the very best internet technology to dozens of remote and rural communities. This landmark initiative is not only about technology – it’s about people, and the ways stronger connections can change lives.
‘Voices along the line’ is our storytelling campaign that shares those experiences. Through video and articles, we highlight how fibre internet is reshaping daily life in many northern communities, how reconciliation with Indigenous partners guides our work, and how gigabit speeds will open new opportunities across our operating area. By amplifying voices from communities along the North’s fibre lines, we aim to show the human side of telecommunications, stories of resilience, partnership, and progress that remind us why this work – and every community – matters.

Northwestel is proud to serve 97 northern communities, each with a rich and unique Indigenous history, culture and identity. We exist to help ignite the power of these First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities through the very best communications technology and services. We are committed to doing so in true partnership and consultation with Indigenous governments and other northern Indigenous partners in a way that creates shared benefits for people in the north.
