Bring a toy. Share the joy.
Tis the season of giving and we are back with our annual Toy Drive. Despite the challenges, we are looking forward to bringing our communities together through the joy of toys.
Sharing the spirit across the North
An estimated 850 Yukon and Northwest Territories families will need support this year. We’re working together with the Whitehorse Firefighters Charitable Society, and the Yellowknife Salvation Army to give back to those in need.
Northwestel is supporting our communities with a $5000 donation to the Holiday Giving campaigns in each territory. On Thursday, November 12th, we held COVID-friendly kick-off events in Whitehorse and Yellowknife to promote the drive and celebrate our dedicated partners. Our retail staff is especially excited to continue the Toy Drive this year.

How you can help
Every small gift can make a big difference, and we thank everyone for their past support and donations. Now’s the time we can help families enjoy a festive feast and give a child a heart-warming surprise on Christmas morning.
You can give back with direct donations or by filling toy boxes at our retail stores in Whitehorse and Yellowknife. The Whitehorse Firefighters Charitable Society will deliver over 1000 uniquely selected toys to Yukon children, the Yellowknife Salvation Army plans to create a toy store with all of the donations they receive so that parents can visit the store and select a gift for their child.
Some things to consider when shopping for your gifts:
- Toys must be unused, unwrapped and unopened.
- Consider giving gifts for kids of different ages – from toddlers to teenagers.
- Teens can be tricky. If you are unsure, a gift card is a popular choice.
Keeping it COVID-friendly
Feel safe at our toy stores with COVID-19 protocols in place. We have limited our capacity to accept 10 people at one time, all guests will be prescreened and should wear a mask.
