Northwestel Festival of Trees - I'll Be Home for the Holidays gala
We may not all be able to connect in-person over the holidays, but we can still all connect in spirit. That’s been the driving force behind the Yukon Hospital Foundation’s Northwestel Festival of Trees.
Yes, the annual pancake breakfast, seniors soiree and gala have had to make way for a stunning new light showOpens in a new tab and socially distant Santa for the kids. But one thing has not changed… even in trying times Yukoners are showing their support their hospital and health care workers.
And now, on December 12th you can bring the celebration to your home with the I’ll be Home for the Holidays virtual gala. Available to everyone through Northwestel Community TV or online, the virtual gala will feature some of the very best of the Yukon, including past tributes, musical performances from Diyet and Major Funk and a chance to see the iconic trees light up your living room.
Tune in online, on the Facebook event page, or in HD through Northwestel TV Channel 209. See you at home!
Children’s care at the core of the festivities
The Northwestel Festival of Trees is the biggest annual fundraiser for the Yukon Hospital Foundation. This year the proceeds will help provide services and equipment to the Pediatric Ward. That’s the part of the hospital focused on caring for Yukon’s children.
For long-time volunteers like Michelle, it’s great to see the community come together in new ways. For her, the glitz and glamour provide an exciting air of anticipation for the festive season. And the community devotion is a timely reminder of the things that matter.
‘It’s always a wow moment when you see the trees, everyone is really committed and the transformation is amazing. It feels so rewarding to give back and events are the perfect way to do this’.
You can show your support for better pediatric care with a donation to the Yukon Hospital Foundation. Happy holidays and see you on December 12th!
