Past top employer Kelsey

Northwestel named a Top Employer for Young People

Enriching job opportunities in stunningly unique settings a major draw for young employees.

When Kelsey first graduated, she didn’t just want to follow the easy path.  She didn’t just want a career, she wanted to be inspired.  Before she knew it, Kelsey was on a plane to the Yukon to start a work term with the Northwestel Community TV team.  She never imagined she would be filming women pilots as they flew the North’s vast landscapes, travelling to remote northern communities with fibre technicians or producing a documentary on local Indigenous artists.

Enriching student and new-graduate experiences like this are just one reason why Northwestel has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for Young People.

Unique opportunities in the high-tech field

This national award recognizes companies that offer the best workplaces and programs for young people starting their career. These employers excel at bringing new young employees to their team and keeping them within their organization.

This year’s award is a testament to Northwestel’s high-performing culture that helps young employees grow.  Young employees working in network engineering, IT, marketing and customer service are offered diverse job opportunities, tailored training and development, and plenty of face-time with company leaders.

Take your career north.

Like so many before her, Kelsey fell in love with the North’s beauty and culture. She turned her summer placement into a full-time opportunity with Northwestel’s marketing team.  To learn more about unique opportunities in Canada’s north, visit here.
