Hospitality IPTV Set Top Box and Remote Control Basics

Get a feel for the remote and learn the basics about the set top box. 

The current Hospitality IPTV set top box is the Amino Amigo 7Y.

On the back of the set top box you will find ports for:

  • Power input
  • HDMI
  • Ethernet

Set Top Box

Note: On the side of the set top box there are two USB ports and a microSD card port that are not needed for the Hospitality IPTV service. The USB ports cannot be used to charge other devices.

When the device is plugged in, you will see a light on the front of the box.

  • A blue light indicates that the set top box is ON
  • A red light indicates that the set top box is OFF.

The current Hospitality IPTV Remote Control unit is called ‘Lima’.

The remote can be paired to the set top box either through IR (Infrared) or Bluetooth. Please see the article Pairing and Disconnecting Hospitality IPTV Remote Controls for further information on that action.

The Lima remote control requires 2 x AAA batteries to operate.

  1. Infra-red (IR) – used when the remote control unit (RCU) is not connected via Bluetooth
  2. LED light – shows pairing and connection status during setup and operation
  3. Microphone – control the device via voice command
  4. TV input source select – switches between connected devices like HDMI or other inputs
  5. On/Off – powers the TV or the set top box on and off
  6. Google voice control – activates voice search and commands using Google Assistant
  7. Not configured
  8. Apps – opens the list of installed or recommended apps
  9. Navigation/OK – move through menus and select highlighted options
  10. Back – returns users to the previous screen or menu
  11. Guide – takes user to the interactive channel guide page
  12. Last channel recall – switches back to the most recently viewed channel
  13. Home – takes users back to the main menu or home screen of the box
  14. Volume – adjusts the sound level of the TV or connected device
  15. Channel – switch between TV channels up or down
  16. Mute – instantly silences the audio from the TV or any connected device
  17. Numbers – directly enter channel numbers or input numeric values
  18. Search – opens a search bar to find shows or content quickly
  19. Closed captions – open the closed caption menu

Note: The A, B, and C buttons are customizable but currently not configured. Their functions may change in the future.
